BBB is a nonprofit organization formed in 2002 to promote the community, preserve its historical heritage and attract people.

Two weekends of fun. This annual Oktoberfest will be held at the VFW Fair Grounds just west of Mifflinburg on Route 45. German and American seasonal beer, German food, German bands and dancers, polka band, hayride. After the 11 AM Volksmarch, the ceremonial keg tapping will happen at 1 PM on Friday. There’s a keg toss contest on Saturday at 1 PM. Beer selection includes Paulaner, Spaten, Hacker Pshorr, Beck’s and Sam Adams. German style wines form Shade Mountain Winery. Brauhaus Schmitz will transform the 16,000 square-foot 23rd Street Armory into the likeness of a Munich festival tent once again. The Armory will be decked out from top to bottom in Bavarian blue and white, with authentic festival tables and benches imported from Germany plus a lofted stage area plus special themed Oktoberfest activities and contests. The Heimatklange Band will be performing Friday and Saturday night and Melina & the Oompahs will be playing Saturday afternoon. Traditional Oktoberfest food will be provided by Valentin Bay, with beer provided by Paulaner Brauerei Munchen. We’ve attended the media premiere of this event and found every morsel offered to be delicious and the music fun, so we would definitely put this in the “don’t miss” column!
