The ring of wealth is an enchanted that, when worn, slightly increases the chances to receive uncut diamond ring 2018 certain unique drops and rewards that are affected by the mechanic. It is classified as a tier 2, in uncut addition to also providing the effects of a tier 1 luck enhancer.
The ring shines whenever a rare drop is received, not necessarily when the ring affected the drop. When the ring shines, the following message appears in the chat box: Your ring of wealth shines more brightly! The ring can be equipped right before the monster dies or before the player loots the monster's chest or corpse to benefit from the ring's luck effect. The ring also provides four rechargeable teleports to the and.
The ring can be made by casting the spell (or using the appropriate ) on a dragonstone ring, requiring level 68. A dragonstone ring can be made at level 55 by combining a cut and a at a while carrying a.
A ring of wealth is uncharged when first made. To charge the ring with four opportunities to teleport, it must be submerged in either the beneath the or the in. Alternatively, the familiar may be used.
A provides the same luck enhancing effect as the ring for one hour, a provides the effect but is worn in the slot rather than the ring slot, and a provides the effect but is worn in the head slot.

Monster drops are determined by random chance from a table of items associated with the monster via a sort of rolling of the dice, with each of the items having a set probability. For many monsters, one of the "rolls" on the standard drop table is actually a trigger for a second "roll" on the rare drop table. This second table is the same across all monsters, and is separate from whatever table the original monster may possess.
When the player gets a "roll" on the rare drop table, they may receive a random item from it, such as an uncut, a, or a. However, this second table also contains many "empty" slots that, if rolled, results in no item. In such an event, nothing except the monster's 100% drops (eg. ) and perhaps a are received.
The ring of wealth previously reduced (not eliminated) the number of empty slots on the rare drop table, which increased the odds of receiving an item. This had no effect on the rate of triggering rolls on the rare drop table. In practicality, the ring had little benefit and was not commonly used, especially because it had no combat stats.
In issue 24 of the, Guthix spoke about how a ring of wealth worked at the time:“ If thou consider the possessions of an enemy to be like a roulette wheel, then the 'rare' items so coveted by players are located on a second roulette wheel, that will only be spun shouldst thou roll a specific number on the first wheel. The ring of wealth affects not the number which thou may achieve upon the first wheel, but should thou gain the precise number to allow thee access to the second, the ring will make thy chances of gaining an object on that second roulette wheel all the greater. My analogy is flawed, for death is not like roulette, but I hope that thou see the truth within this. ”

- On, an update to the ring of wealth caused a major bug where the effect of the ring would stack when multiple players in a clan used. This caused the, as well as many other bosses regularly hunted by clans, to generate "significantly more generous drops than usual": and other very rare items were received at a near 100% frequency. This bug was patched within 140 minutes of its release. Jagex later issued a statement of apology and revealed that there would be no, causing many players to riot in-game and on the forums to demand rollbacks to fix the market prices.
